Duck Private is a HTFF episode. This episode introduces Flaps, the duck with the mind of a soldier.
Plot[]
The episode starts with Flaps running up a mountain with a heavy load on his back. Lumpy is shown behind him as a drill sergeant yelling at him to keep moving. The whole thing is shortly revealed to be an imagination sequence. In reality, Flaps is actually Lumpy's golf caddy.
Lumpy tells Flaps to put his ball on the tee. Flaps gives a salute after doing so. Lumpy successfully putts a hole in one and then tells his caddy to retrieve the ball. On his way to the flag, Flaps gets pelted by numerous golf balls, protected by his helmet, but imagines he is running through a mine field. He dramatically crawls on the ground just inches from the ball, when an impatient Lumpy walks over and picks it up himself.
Scotty and Snappy are also shown playing golf. Snappy whacks his ball, which misses the hole by a few inches. He distracts Scotty by telling him to look in the other direction. Scotty sees only Lumpy and Flaps approaching, oblivious to Snappy kicking his ball into the hole. He turns back around to see Snappy making a victory dance.
Flippy drives by in a golf cart as Lumpy and Flaps reach the next hole. As Lumpy prepares to swing his club, Flaps blows a trumpet, which ruins Lumpy's aim. The ball bounces off the flag and gets lodged into Flaps' trumpet. Flaps blows it out and the ball smashes through Scotty's head before landing in a pond.
Bitterly frustrated, Lumpy sends Flaps to retrieve the ball. The very moment Flaps enters the pond, Gator pops out and attacks him. However, Flaps puts up a rather impressive fight and even manages to throw the alligator off his back. Snappy is seen trying whack his ball into the hole. But just before it does, he is snatched up in Gator's jaws.
After swallowing his meal, Gator burps out Lumpy's ball and it lands in the hole. Lumpy makes a fist pump at his successful game. Flaps picks up the flag and salutes. A stray ball hits his helmet as the iris closes.

- A golf ball smashes a hole through Scotty's head.
- Snappy is eaten by Gator.
Trivia[]
- The title a pun on "buck private", the lowest rank in the US military.
- There was originally a scene where Flaps would give Lumpy a grenade in place of a golf ball, and the resulting explosion would trigger Flippy. The scene was removed because it seemed 'forced' into the plot.
- Flippy, however, does make a cameo riding a golf cart.
