Josh engages in a phone chat with Stacy to arrange a date. Stacy agrees and says she'll be at his house this evening. As soon as he puts down the phone, Josh drives off and quickly returns with groceries. He starts by opening a bag of frozen shrimp, finding Cocktail inside. The shrimp thaws out and escapes Josh's clutches by hiding under the couch.
Returning to the kitchen, Josh decides to bake a pie instead. As he beats some eggs, the phone rings, and he answers to Lumpy the telemarketer. An annoyed Josh tries to reason with him, when his sleeve gets caught in the automatic egg beater and he struggles to get it loose. Lumpy just keeps talking and is oblivious to Josh's situation.
Josh ends up ripping off most of his shirt, along with the skin from his hand. He places an oven mitt over his wounds and bakes the pie. Then he hangs up on Lumpy. Within seconds, the moose phones again, and Josh is now peeved. As he is distracted on the phone, Cocktail sneaks into the kitchen and turns up the power of the oven.
Josh argues with Lumpy for over an hour until he smells his pie burning. He races to get it out of the oven, activating the smoke detector. The phone rings yet again and Josh yells at whom he believes is Lumpy. When he realizes it was actually Stacy who called this time, he drops the pie, which scalds his feet. Stacy becomes puzzled when Cocktail talks on the phone.
Opening his window to release the smoke, Josh hears the phone ring again. He answers to Lumpy once more. Some smoke goes through the phone and comes out of Lumpy's end, killing him. Josh puts out his flaming oven using a fire extinguisher. Just as everything seems fine, his home explodes.
Stacy finally arrives to discover Josh standing in the middle of a barren mass that was once his house. She asks him what he made for dinner. Cocktail comes up and flirts with Stacy, until Josh impales him with a barbecue fork and says they're having shrimp as the main course.

- Cocktail is trapped in a kitchen to be served as a meal, just like in Small Fry.
- Cocktail seems more like a featuring character.
- Originally, the episode ended with Josh dying and Stacy dating Cocktail. The writer decided it wouldn't work.
- This is the first time Stacy wears a shirt alongside pants.
