Here is some interesting, engaging food for thought:If we lived in a world where HTF never existed, do you think the show would be able to succeed if it had just premiered yesterday. Or do you think that the high demand for political correctness that 2018 has given us would make the show a massive failure? You want to know what I think, sure HTF is violent. But a LOT of 2018's pop culture is incredibly violent. Think about it? Rick and Morty's 70 episode renewal, Deadpool 2, that new Final Space show, etc. More than a few of the things popular enough to find all over the place in stores like Hot Topic and Spencer's this year are extremely graphic and violent. HTF doesn't have any of the popular "trigger warnings" these days such as racism, jokes about sexual harassment, anti-political humor, anything involving guns, etc. Plus a lot of the violent media that gets people shocked these days involves guns and most of HTF's violence is done on accident. Aside from Flippy's brutal killings (not to mention he uses a knife to commit those murders), HTF doesn't feature the type of violence that SJWs consider to be the "the cause of school shootings". So yeah, I think that HTF could still have been just as popular if it had come out today as it was when it premiered in 1999. But what do you think? Do you think the show would be a massive success or a frequent target of soccer moms if it were brand new? Please discuss this interesting topic below.
